One down many more to go

It would appear that President Trump has ended one welfare program, actually it is two, two for the price of one. Ended is the cost sharing portion of Obamacare. That means that we hard-working citizens will no longer have to pay for others lifestyle. It also ends a corporate welfare scheme, the insurance companies will no longer be paid to overcharge for insurance products. Well done Mr. President.

Now here is the “fly in the ointment”. Congress can appropriate monies from the national treasury to fund these two welfare programs. My guess is that congress will appropriate monies from the national treasury. They will do this for two reasons. The first being is that they need campaign donations from the insurance industry. The second is that this welfare program is like all the rest a vote-buying scheme. The old back-scratching scheme, “You scratch my back and I will scratch yours”.

I am also of the opinion that the republican controlled congress has made no serious attempt to end Obamacare for the same two reasons. Doing so would have cost them both campaign contributions and votes. The insurance industry could have done much better with the monies donated to political campaigns, but then they would have not put corrupt politicians in their pocket.

So, lets discuss the insurance industry and the lobbyists for the insurance industry for just a moment and the possible correlation of insurance premiums. Insurance companies charge for their premiums to cover overhead. The insurance company employees have to be paid, whether it comes from the company directly or is included in the premiums, the employees will be paid. How much do you do you think it costs the insurance industry as a whole to have lobbyists? Millions or tens of millions? Who pays for the lobbyists? Where does the money going into political campaigns come from? Would premiums be lower if not for the lobbyists and campaign contributions? The insurance industry looks out for the industry and not those who buy policies. There is a reason that former politicians become current lobbyists. There is also a reason the former lobbyists become current politicians.

The same goes for the banking industry. The people receive a mere pittance in the form of interest on their savings, while the industry pays millions for lobbying efforts. What is the rate you receive on your savings? What is the rate on your mortgage or other loan? What is the dollar amount from the industry in the form of campaign contributions? What would your rate be if not for paying lobbyists and campaign contributions. The banking industry looks out for the interest of the industry not those who use the banks.

Politicians look out for their political careers not those they are supposed to represent. Or do they? If this is a representative republic just who do the congress critters represent? It sure aint me and you. They represent their moneyed interests.

Now that President Trump has brought this non-sense to an end the congress critters are screaming in agony. He has out-smarted them. They now claim that millions will lose their health care insurance, the premiums will be to high for them to afford. They make it sound like they care about the common man. Nothing could be farther from the truth. It was the politicians, the democrat politicians, who wrote, passed and implemented the health care law known as Obamacare. They wrote it knowing full well it was unaffordable, that is exactly why they included a subsidy program. They did not give a hoot about your health care or your ability to afford insurance, they wanted to ensure a steady flow of revenue for the insurance industry, which in turn ensured a steady flow of campaign contributions. Please wise up.

If the politicians really cared about your ability to afford or have health insurance they would lighten up on the regulations that curtail job growth and opportunity. You do not need subsidies to afford any thing. What you need is job then maybe, just maybe you could get insurance through an employer sponsored health care plan, a group plan. Do you want a job or a subsidy?

While I am on the subject of ending subsidies, all of them should be ended. Welfare included. I am of the opinion that “If you don’t work you don’t eat. I said dont not cant. There was a time in which the community and the associated Churches helped those that had fallen on hard times. There were even private charities that were equipped to help those that could not work long-term. The problem now is that government has caused such a demand for assistance that the Churches, communities and private charities can no longer keep up.

The child credit on the tax forms should be eliminated. I am personally tired of seeing and hearing from people that they got their “tax refund” check and it was more than they paid in in taxes. A tax refund is when you get a little bit back when the government took a bit too much. A “refund” is not when you get back more than the government took from you. What you received was a welfare check and nothing more. It was money they never earned, nor were entitled too. I have even heard some say that they did not deserve the “refund”. They did not return the money, they spent the money and in some cases on the damnedest things imaginable. They could afford the things they bought not by their own efforts, but because of the efforts of others. Before the government could give them anything it first had to be taken from another.

One more thing. Maybe those enlightened individuals in congress should read a short story. “It is not yours to give”.

I might as well end with this. I would like to see the day come when those that received money from the government they had neither earned or were entitled to send the money back. What the government calls “entitlements” are just welfare payments. You are entitled to what you earn and nothing more. If you feel that you are entitled to more, go earn it. Be independent not dependent. Mark those welfare checks return to sender, if you have the courage.

I have a hunch that Dixie, The Confederate States of America would not have become a welfare state.

May as well get back to it

Before getting started we got through Irma just fine, trees down, power was out and no phone service or internet. Pretty much the same story for the rest of this part of Florida. Some people did experience flooding and home damage. It is gonna take some time to clean up the mess. Parts of it was like a mini-vacation, some parts were an inconvenience. I was quite disappointed in the conduct of some of the people in this area before and after Irma which I will address later in this post, if not in this one certainly in a future post.

This post is a continuation of the last, and yes there will be gaps and holes and again they are intentional. A lot has happened since my last post and some of it will be covered and some wont. Most of it is just a distraction, drawing our focus away from the important matters. So let’s get started.

I am just about tired of hearing about the latest republican efforts to do something about the ACA. They are doing something about it by doing nothing, which is/was and has been their intention all along. They are going to leave that wretched piece of legislation in place because they don’t give a crap. If there ever was an intention to repeal the ACA there would have been legislation ready for the President to sign. It was said by a politician years back, “Watch what we do, don’t pay attention to what we say”. It looks like this problem is not unique in American politics, the U.K. may never get out of the E.U. thanks to the British politicians. America may be stuck with Obamacare forever and the U.K. may never see Brexit be fulfilled. Back to this later.

So the NFL players decided to protest the National Anthem. I would not have known that if that did not become the biggest news story of the century. Every news outlet TV, radio and print has covered this in great detail. As for me I have not watched a football game since the 84/85 season and then only if Miami was playing. Gave up on baseball shortly after. Never watched hockey or basketball, much less tennis or golf. Watched the Olympics once back in the 60s. Gave up on NASCAR years ago. Don’t care for college or high school sports either. I don’t even watch the pro-anglers anymore. No boxing, wrestling. No cable. No satellite. Oh, I can just hear it now. People screaming that that is just not American, those are all American pass times. I don’t go to amusement parks either, so take that.

Those listed above might be pass times to some they are just not how I wish to pass my time. None of those listed above are worth on minute of my time. How many hours of your life are spent in front of a TV or at some sports venue? Those are hours that you will never get back, and you get nothing of any real value in return. Lost and wasted. Some of you are outraged, outraged I say over the players protesting the National Anthem. Some of you have even said that you will boycott the NFL. Some, a very small majority are sincere and will do what you said. To the rest of you I say horses ass, your butt will be in front of the TV or in the stands watching the next game. Your anger will be short-lived. Why do I say this? The answer is simple, remember back to when the videos surfaced showing baby body parts being sold. The Republicans were outraged, outraged I say. They were so outraged they swore to defund Planned Parenthood. But when the time came to fund the government they funded Planned Parenthood just like nothing had ever happened. Their anger was short-lived too.

So I may as well give my opinion on what the NFL players did. They are “attention whores”, wanting attention and they got it wall-to-wall attention. They will continue to act in this manner as long as it gets them attention. If you want this behavior to stop the answer is simple stop opening the events with the National Anthem. They will have nothing to protest. I did not say stop playing the Nation Anthem, I said stop opening the event with it. It would be fun to just play the National Anthem at some point during a play, just to see how many of those attention whores took a knee or locked arms in protest, maybe on a 4th and long situation. Play it loud, Play it proud when they least expect it. Here is how I see it, what they did has had no effect on my life in the slightest and never will. I do not give a rat’s ass about them or their sport or how they conduct themselves.

As for me I did not boycott the sports listed above, I just lost interest and found a better way to spend my time. I found a better pass time. Maybe it is time for a new pass time in this country. How about this coming Sunday instead of sitting in front of the TV you take yourself and your family to Church, and after Church you take your family to the local park. You know the one you never seem to find time to visit because you are parked in front of the TV. Perhaps next Saturday you could take your kids fishing. You know spend some quality time with your family, you might just find out being a parent is a lot more rewarding than being a fan. Church and Family could be the new American pass times, actually they are not new pass times, they are the old pass times.

I have spent enough of my time on this subject. Remember this you only have so much time on this Earth, spend it wisely. You are outraged over the NFL players conduct and speak out yet you are silent on what the politicians have done to America.

Now let us go to nuclear weapons for just a moment. It is too late to prevent North Korea from acquiring nuclear weapons and it is most likely too late to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. North Korea, Iran and their respective leaders are in the same category as the NFL players, “attention whores”. There is no need to waste resources and time with any further “shows of force”. It is time to send them a clear message. One that says “Welcome to the Nuclear Age”. Now that you have developed nuclear weapons it is best that you do the same as the other nuclear nations and not use them. If you choose to use them rest assured there will nothing left of your country or your people.

Up until this point in history only America has used nuclear weapons against another nation. America at that time was the only nation in possession of nuclear weapons. Japan can bear witness to destructive power of Atomic bombs. Now there exist even more destructive nuclear weapons. Lots of them and several nations are in possession of them.

If memory serves no nuclear nation has attacked another nuclear nation outright, yet. The nuclear nations have so far just engaged in proxy wars. Has anyone given any real thought as to how a nuclear armed country might react if attacked or act if they do not care about the consequences? A country could be duped into a preemptive strike. This subject is worthy of a future post on its own.

Now let us move on to DACA. Let me address the “immigration activists” and the “immigration rights” crowd. First off there is no right to immigrate to this country or any other. There may be a “desire” to immigrate but there is no “right”. People in this country illegally have no “rights” under the U.S. Constitution, quite simply the Bill of Rights does not apply to non citizens. This subject is also worthy of a future post on its own.

The Politician and the Mooch

Two of the greatest threats to Liberty and Freedom are the politicians and the moochers. The politician and the political system uses wealth redistribution to create a welfare state. The welfare state provides for the moocher what he or she could not or would not provide for themselves. The government politician believes that each and every problem in society(even if government created the problem to start with)can be fixed with another tax-payer funded(welfare)program, or two or three. The moocher spends his or her entire life looking in other people’s wallets, wanting what others have but unwilling to work for it.

The politician is wedded to the moocher. The moocher is wedded to the politician. It is a marriage made in Hell and will always be so. There is now way that one is willing to divorce the other. I would even say that you could not separate the politician from the moocher or the moocher from the politician with a crow bar. It is a relationship of dependency, want and need. The moocher wants that which they are not entitled to and most certainly did not earn. The politician needs votes.

Like many others, I will not voluntarily lift a finger to help those who will not help themselves. If you do not work you do not eat. I will offer a hand-up to those who at least try to better themselves. I will not give a hand-out to anyone, no how no way. I also believe that as far as entitlements go, a person is entitled to exactly what they have earned, no more or less. If a person feels that they deserve better or are entitled to better or more, they had best be willing to work for it. Welfare is not an entitlement.

The moochers know that I would not freely hand over my property to them. This is where they need the government. If they want what is mine they must rely on the government to take it, even by force. The moochers depend on a government that would use force to take from another to give to them. We have reached tax season, which should be officially titled “Open season on the producers of this Republic”.

On a personal note. Just putting the finishing touches on my taxes for last year. Forms are filled out(checked and double checked), W-2’s attached, 1099-R attached, envelope addressed only one more thing to do before mailing it on Monday. And that one more thing is to write out a check, a substantial check to send to the government. Another “pound of flesh”.

So let me discuss the politicians and the moochers.

First, let me address the politicians for just a minute or two, possibly more. You have caused all of this. You have created a Tax Code that will at some point eventually kill off the middle class, bleed us dry so to speak. The tax code you created is exactly what will sooner or later bite you in the ass. You write tax laws that protect the wealthy. You do this because you need their money for your campaigns, either for election or re-election. If you take their money by taxation or even seriously move in that direction, you will get no more donations. At this moment you only pay lip service with talk like, “the rich need to pay their fair share”. So what you do is you buy the support and the votes of the wealthy by not “making them pay their fair share”. You can’t really tax the moochers. Why? Glad you asked. You wrote and write tax codes that created them. You get to give them other people’s money in order to “buy” their votes and loyalty. There is simply not enough wealthy voters to elect you if the moochers turn on you. You are wed to the wealthy because of money, while being wed to the moochers because of votes. You truly are an unfaithful lot.

When it comes to “paying one’s fair share” you politicians have yet to ever say what the fair share is or might be. There must be reason you never attach a number to the fair share thing. There is another thing that deserves mention. Not only are you the ones who decide how much money to spend or give away you have also took it upon yourselves to be the decider of who pays taxes and how much.

Here is what you politicians do not understand. The only vote you do not have to buy is the vote of the true middle class. Our vote is not for sale. Our vote is earned. How do you earn our vote? Again, glad you asked. How about something as simple as governing by the Constitution. That is all I ask. Your job came with an instruction manual, you probably should have read and applied it.

You, the politicians, might want to start getting busy with that little task. The middle class is ever shrinking, we are no longer young. We will at some point leave the work force. There will come a time when income will no longer exist for you to tax the crap out of. You will at some point need another source of revenue. The wealthy will not stand for you taxing the crap out of them. Your only other choice will to yank the government teat out of the mouths of the moochers. They will never stand for that. You will soon be between a rock and a hard spot. As for the political practice of Borrow and Spend sooner or later no one will loan you money to spend. If you can’t tax and you can’t borrow how will government exist?

Just because you pull the government teat from the mouths of the moochers does not mean that their appetite for “free” money is or will be satisfied. They will still demand more and more. You created them and you will have to live with your creation. They will look for it. It will do them not good to look in my direction, for you will have already taken all I have and given all I had to them. As they say you can not get blood from a turnip. They will look to you. You will at that point have two choices. First give them your property. Second is to become Robin Hood, take from the rich and give to the poor. Pretty much going to suck to be you.

Now to the moochers. These are the one’s who need the protection of government, they will never seek protection from government. More than that they stand in the way of those who seek to limit government. How? Glad you asked. They vote to keep their protected status. By being protected and provided for by government, they rely on government to devise a plan for others to provide for them what they either can not or will not provide for themselves. The plan government uses is the Tax Codes. They receive money from government that they have never earned. There was a time when a tax refund check was a refund of the money the government took from the wage earned that was a bit too much. Those times are long gone. Now the moochers receive more than they ever paid in, thousands of more dollars. They spend the money like it was water. Making purchases they would not otherwise make, again regardless of cost, because it actually cost them nothing. Money spends pretty easy when it is the money of other people. Money spends hard when it is your money.

They receive income, tax-free income, courtesy of the government. It is not a loan it is a hand-out, never will it be required to be paid back. They receive subsidies to feed their family, tax-free of course. It is sad when a moocher eats better than the middle class, the true middle class. It is even worse when a moocher can provide for his or her family better than a true middle class American can.

They feel entitled to the property of others. They exist solely because of the endeavors of others. They exist because government, through the Tax Codes take by force from others and give to them. They are the freeloaders of society, they demand a free lunch. There is no free lunch, someone somewhere must foot the bill. They demand their needs and wants be serviced no matter the cost. They make these demands because it costs them nothing. They would scream bloody murder if they had to pay the cost. But they do not have to worry about that, government is the way and the means. They are protected by the “bloody bayonet” of government. The very same “bloody bayonet” that has pinned States Rights, Conservatism, the Middle-Class and Christianity to the ground.

To be fair about the whole moocher thing, there are two types in the moocher class.
First are those in the Moocher class by choice, courtesy of government. These know what they are. They have remained on government assistance for generations, and will remain so for generations to come. They have never contributed a single dime to the Welfare of the Republic. They only take and demand more.
Second are those in the Moocher class because of the government. These do not even realize they are moochers. How? Glad you asked. A political smoke screen, what we used to call “smoke and mirrors”. These are the ones who actually work, some even earn what would be called middle class wages. These actually think that they are contributing to the welfare of the Republic. How? Again glad you asked. The tax code is written in such a way that it appears that they actually pay taxes, after all their pay stub shows payroll taxes were deducted. This is where the smoke and mirrors come in to play. The truth is revealed when it come time to file taxes. They get back every dime they paid in and additionally get thousands and in some cases many more thousands than they ever paid in, depending on how many children they have managed to download. This is what ticks me off even more about “those people” is that after they get their “tax refund” they march their happy asses down to the Food Stamp office to get their additional “benefit”. Their next stop will be the WIC office for even more “benefits”. Always taking as much as they can, after all they are “entitled” says the government.

No matter the circumstance of your arrival in the moocher class, both have at least two things in common. First, neither will vote for anyone who will give them less. That is because you will only demand more. Second, the only effort you will exert is the effort to remain a moocher. You have no desire to enter the true middle class. You wouldn’t dare.

Since I have not heard of a single person returning their Tax “refund” back to the government, I assume none of you did. So you spend that money, have good time, buy lots of stuff and please do enjoy yourselves. Do one thing for me if you do not mind, make sure some of the stuff you buy has payments attached, like a new car. You can not afford a new car and the payments associated with it. This is going to cause you to have to sell some of your other property. Perhaps to a Pawn Shop. It does my heart good to see a big flat screen TV, game console and the like in a pawn shop. Oh, do not worry I will pass it by no matter the cost. Why you ask? I already paid for it once. I’ll be damned if I will buy it again.

Oh, another thing. Just because you happen to “qualify” for all or some of the welfare programs does not mean you have to go get it. But go ahead and take all you can. The more you take the sooner it will run out. Enjoy it while you can and all you can, after all it has cost you nothing, yet.

You the politicians and moochers have pretty much run this Republic into the ground. It can still be saved. There is time, there is always time until there is no more time. But, then again I believe that neither the politicians or the moochers give a damn. You will both run out the clock. Stupidity and Greed.

How on earth did America reach this low point?

Perhaps a better question would be, How low will America sink? I’m not even talking about the presidential primaries or the conventions, though that seems to be the subject of the times. what I am talking about is America in general and the American citizens in particular.

Is it the state(condition) of America dragging down the citizens or is it the state(condition) of the citizens dragging America down? The answer to this question is that one feeds off of the other in what appears to be a never-ending cycle.

The current state(condition)of America.
If America were a person in the Emergency Room what level of care would be needed? America is by no means in a condition of being placed on Life Support, but the Vital Signs are not good and treatment is required to prevent a further deterioration in Vital Signs. Much like a person America could only end up in the Emergency Room for Illness or Injury or both. Triage would reveal the reason and course of treatment. The triage would reveal that there is both an Illness and an Injury that has caused the continued decay and decline in America. But there is a Cure.

The decline of America and the American citizens began with the birth or more aptly the creation of Generation E. The American government created the E Generation, and the created Generation E has given birth to millions who are a part of Generation E. To answer the question, What is Generation E? Generation E is the Entitlement Generation, the Generation that believes that they are Entitled to anything and everything. Not only are the good and decent citizens forced to contend with and support the Entitlement Generation, we are forced to contend with Generation O and Generation D. In case you are wondering, Generation O is the Offended(by any and everything)Generation, and Generation D is the Dependent(on government for any and everything)Generation.

In the not to distant past there was one constant that kept America safe and strong and that was the citizens. When Japan attacked at Pearl Harbor it was done so to deal a death-blow to the U.S Military and especially the U.S. Navy in the Pacific. Japan did not attack or attempt an invasion on America for one simple reason, an outright invasion of America would have come at an extremely high price and the price was unaffordable to Japan. Had Japan mounted an outright invasion of America, Japan would have faced a heavily armed population. Not only were the citizens armed but they were a hardy and hardened lot. It was famously said by one Japanese “There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass”. The Japanese were ambitious not crazy. It is my opinion that no country on earth would attack America for the very same reason.

In 1941 there were many veterans of WW 1 still among the citizenry and still relatively young and able-bodied hardened by war and further hardened by the Great Depression. Many of the population still lived in rural areas on farms and ranches. They too were hardened by the Great Depression. The people in the rural areas had to make do with what they had and make the best of it. These people had skills, farming skills, raising their own food and hunting skills(actually going into the woods and mountains and taking game)to feed their families. If things were needed that they could not afford they made up for the lack of cash by trading and bartering. They made do without government handouts. They endured the hardships and pressed on. That was then.

This is now. Look around the general public today, you will see many(to many)that are lazy and fat. You see many that will not do for themselves, they expect and even demand that the government do and provide for them. These are the same ones that do nothing to better themselves. These are the ones that feel that they are entitled to something, everything and anything even though they have never earned it. They feel Entitled and are Offended if someone insist that they provide for themselves and have become Dependent on government. They have been Conditioned to believe that the government provides Free Services(Welfare), the government does provide Welfare, but it is not Free, for the government to Give to one it must first be Taken from another. Does anyone really believe that these people know what a true hardship is? They will stand in line for hours upon hours or even camp-out in front of a store just to be the first or among the first to buy the latest electronic gadget or game or to see a movie. But they will not stand in line to do their civic duty and vote. If they do vote and have to wait in line they claim that is not fair or places an undue hardship on them and demand that the government do something. They readily show photo ID to by beer and liquor but cry foul if they must show ID to vote. The only hardship these people know is if they can not acquire the latest electronic gadget or if there reality show gets cancelled. This is the Illness.

The preceding paragraph was not written for every citizen, if it does not apply to you then you will recognize that fact. At the same time those that it does apply to will not recognize that it was written for and about them. Would anybody really expect these people to come to the defense of this country? Would they be willing to lay down their gadgets and pick up a rifle and get behind a blade of grass? I submit that they would not. They would rather submit to an enemy than Offend the same enemy.

Sadly there are not any veterans of WW1 among us now they have all since passed. However, we are fortunate to still have among us some veterans of WW 2, Korea and Viet Nam these too are hardy and hardened men and women. But sadly they are growing old and they too will pass from us in the not to distant future. Additionally we still have among us the veterans of Desert Storm, of which I am one and we too are aging and undoubtedly will also pass from existence. As will the ones who follow.

One undeniable fact is that the Entitled, Offended and Dependent Generations exist in every generation from the Depression era to the present.

Governments role in the decline of America. Where should I start?
Should I start with Tariffs? Tariffs are no more than a tax. A tax placed on goods imported that is paid wholly by the consumer. The tax is not paid by the overseas manufacturer. The tax is not paid by the exporting country. The tax is paid by the consumer in the importing nation to the government of the importing country.
Should I start with Subsidies? Subsidies are no more than corporate welfare. They are used to prop up businesses or industries that the government says provides a benefit. The only one that benefits is the business or industry. Subsidies are paid for with tax dollars. The consumer pays the subsidy(if they pay taxes)and still pays for the product. Buying one thing twice.
Should I start with the other subsidy, Welfare? Yes welfare is a subsidy. The tax payers are forced to subsidize the lifestyles of others that will not or choose not to finance their lifestyles for themselves. There are many welfare cases that are generational. A reward for bad behavior and bad decisions.
Should I start with Income Taxes? Income taxes are at this point a penalty for producing. Welfare is a reward for not producing.
Should I start with the National Debt? Nearing 20 trillion dollars in debt, money spent buying votes and friends. Please explain to me how everything that was taken in was spent or wasted and why you had to borrow an additional 20 trillion dollars to continue spending or wasting.
The list goes on and on. This is the Injury.

Taxes at the outset were intended for the Welfare(Well-Being)of the Nation. They were intended to fund the needful functions of Government, they were not intended to subsidize the less fortunate and especially not the lazy and slothful. There was warning from long-ago that went something like this; The Republic is in danger of failure when the populace discovers they can and then begin voting themselves money from the national treasury. They discovered it, they do it and the Republic is in great peril.

If you need proof that America is in decline you need to look no further that this. Some men that claim to feel like a woman demand to use facilities for women. The state says no, men use men’s rooms and women use women’s rooms. Then some federal government knucklehead says that might be discrimination based on sex. Some men feel Entitled to use women’s rooms based on how they feel and are Offended that they can’t and are Dependent on government to force the women to comply and allow men in the women’s rooms. College students that seek counseling because they were traumatized by someone writing in chalk “Trump” on a sidewalk.

There is another aspect to “Making America Great Again”, other than bringing back jobs and money from overseas, though that would be nice. What is needed to make America great again is for the American citizens to make themselves great again. The citizens need a revival of the American Spirit. American citizens need to become hardy and hardened. American citizens need to return to the practice of Self-Reliance and become Self-Dependent. Rely and Depend on ones own self. Stop being lazy and slothful. Learn to live with-in one’s own means. Learn to make do. Become the one behind the blade of grass. This is the cure so to speak.

America is great, always has been, always will be. The government and some of the citizens are dragging her down. Every time I hear a political clown claiming that he or she will shrink the “size and scope” of government I just bust out laughing. No politician has any intention of shrinking the federal government, I especially get a kick out of one claiming to abolish the IRS. Just how does one abolish a federal government agency? No politician will shrink the federal government in size or scope. If the federal government were to be shrunk, that would in theory return power to either the state or to the people. Do you really think the federal government would empower the states much less the people? Government at all levels is about power and control. What we the people should be concerned with is, when will the government gain absolute power and total control? If and when government gains absolute power and total control over the people it will be because the citizens allowed it to happen.

All of the Kings, Tyrants and Dictators of the world have always feared one thing and one thing only, and that is a nation of Free People. America was founded as a Free Nation(at that time Free and Independent States)inhabited by a Free People Governed by Consent. It is my opinion, If the nation continues down the current path the nation will no longer be a Free Nation inhabited by a Free People governed by Consent, it will become a Nation Ruled by Force with no free inhabitants.

So I now ask what is it that keeps our enemies from our shores? I can assure you that it is not the Entitled, Offended or Dependent Generations. The answer simply put is that there are still enough Hardy and Hardened Americans to make the cost to high to bear. The downside to this is that time and laziness has taken a terrible toll on the Hardy and Hardened.

To answer the Question, How low will America sink? To the very bottom if the people do not wake up and start acting like the Americans and if the government does not start governing as the Founding Fathers envisioned. Both must happen. So which are you ? Part of the Illness? Part of the Injury? Are you willing to be part of the Cure.

Socialist or Democrat

There was a recent interview with one of the “talking heads” of the democratic party, she was asked a question that she could not or would not give an answer to. She was asked, “what was the difference between a socialist and a democrat”? She was asked more than once. She had no answer, or there was no answer, or there is no difference. She instead wanted to discuss the difference between Democrats and Republicans. Her failure and refusal to answer that question, reveals the answer, there is no difference between a socialist and a democrat. At least, there is no difference between the two in American politics. Since the lady did not know the difference between a socialist and a democrat, I decided to look it up for her.

Socialist 1: one who advocates or practices socialism 2. a member of a party or political group advocating socialism.
Democrat 1a: an adherent of democracy b: one who practices social equality. 2: a member of the Democratic party of the U.S.

A better question to have asked the lady would have been along these lines, prefaced with a statement; There is at present a gentleman, a self-proclaimed Socialist running for president of the United States of America under the Democratic party banner. Are you comfortable with that? That question only has two possible answers. Yes or No. Dodging the question or refusing to answer can only mean that the Democratic party is ok with a Socialist representing the Democratic party. The lady represents the Democratic party, and to do so she must “toe the party line”.
A good follow-up question would have been; What is the difference between Socialism and Democratic? I wonder if she even knows. Followed by this; Does a self-proclaimed Socialist believing in the principles of Socialism represent principles of the Democratic Party today? Again dodging the question or failing to answer only means that Socialism does represent the Democratic party. So to help her out I again turn to Webster’s.

Socialism 1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods. 2 a: a system of society or group living in which there is no private property. b: a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state. 3 a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done.
Democratic 1: of, relating to or favoring democracy. 2 : of or relating to one of the two major political parties in the U.S. evolving in the early 19th century from the anti-federalists and the Democratic-Republican party and associated in modern times with policies of broad social reform and internationalism. 3 : relating to, appealing to, or available to the broad masses of the people. 4 : favoring social equality : not snobbish.
Since Democrat and Democratic both reference Democracy I throw this in.
Democracy 1 a: government by the people; esp: rule of the majority. b : a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usu. involving periodically held free elections 2 : a political unit that has a democratic government 3 : the principles and policies of the Democratic party in the U.S. 4: the common people esp. when constituting the source of political authority. 5 : the absence of hereditary or arbitrary class distinctions or privileges.

She could not answer the question but she did say one thing which I feel is very important. She may have brought the democrat liberal progressive out from the shadows. I had heard it before but this time it stuck with me. Maybe it was the way she said it or maybe it was her refusal to answer the question and then interject the phrase. She said “the democrat party was a big tent party”. The only big tent party. I do not think I have taken out of context what she was saying, given the fact that she did not answer the question. What she was inferring was that everyone was welcome in the democrat party. Socialists, Communists and every one else was welcome. She was also inferring that the republican party was a “small tent party”. It donned on me that she was absolutely right. Not only was she absolutely right, she was absolutely wrong. The truth is that the democratic party is a big tent party, and you and your cause are welcome, but only if it furthers the progressive liberal agenda and the democratic party can get some “mileage”, aka votes, out of you or your cause. Think on this. Both the democratic party and the republican party have a platform, planks, if you will. The difference between the two is that the big tent theory allows for more planks to be added to the platform, meaning that the democratic platform will get bigger while the republican platform will remain stagnant. Where do the Democrats keep finding planks to increase the size of their platform? Well, they just create them. It is their agenda. The key lies in their use of the word social. But what is their agenda? Again Webster’s may provide some insight.

When BHO stated he planned to fundamentally change America, he meant what he said. He along with Democrats and some Republicans have changed America, and America has been changed with socialist tactics. America will continue to be changed with social tactics, the political system and the political parties will see to that.

The Democratic agenda.
1. Social Darwinism.
2. Social Engineering.
3. Social Democracy.
4. Social Medicine

The above three lay out the entire democratic liberal progressive agenda. Look them up and everything that is wrong in America can be tied to one of them and they are all Socialist ideals. Everything from and including racial tensions to unemployment.

Check the above definitions of Democracy and Socialism and compare them to what America has descended into and then answer these questions. Is America a democratic or socialist? Is there a difference between a socialist and a democrat when it comes to American politics? Do the democrats in power really live up to the principles of Democrat, Democratic or Democracy? No they do not, but they do exhibit some if not all of the principles of Socialists and Socialism.

I am not done yet, the liberal progressives masquerading as republicans and the talking heads are next.

Incrementalism and Gradualism Engineering the means to the ends Part 2

Conditioning the people. It does not have to be all the people, just enough of the people and in the right places. Think of it this way. Conditioner is applied after shampooing to make the hair easier to control and manage, preventing tangles thus aiding in grooming. Conditioning is no more than an application of whatever to make the population easier to control and more manageable. Another way to think of it is this, conditioning the population is a way of grooming them into what government wants them to be versus the way they want to be or are supposed to be.

Conditioning through teaching reliance on government. This began in the 1930’s with government attempts to end the Great Depression, even though government interference caused it to last eleven long years. But, none-the-less the conditioning began. Then came the 1960’s and the “great society”, conditioning on steroids. No longer expect self-reliance or self-sufficiency instead teach and instill government dependence. The government will provide for you that which you can not or will not provide for yourself. If one social program was not enough to bring total government dependence another program would be introduced. Welfare, Food Stamps, WIC, Section 8 Housing, the list just goes on and on. Sooner or later a segment of the population will be given enough through government social welfare programs to make working for a living pointless. Working and earning even a little bit would cause a drop in the amount received from government social welfare programs. Welfare programs began to be used as either a reward or a punishment. A person could either be rewarded for laziness or punished for trying to make it on their own. Now the point has been reached with welfare programs where those receiving government welfare live as well and in some cases better that the ones who pay the taxes that support those programs. The social welfare programs did as they were intended, that was to make a segment totally dependent on government for their every aspect of their lives. This conditioning took off like a rocket when social welfare programs began to be called “entitlements”. More on entitlements later.

There are many more ways to condition a segment of the population than for government to bestow gifts upon them.

Conditioning through behavior modification. Let’s face it behavior modification has been around a long time. A child who veered from the path of right, or confused right and wrong had his or her behavior modified by parents who actually took the time to raise their children. If you are even close to my age you understood the previous sentence. The government engages in behavior modification in a different way. The government uses taxes and the tax code to modify behavior.
I will use this example as a way to punish with taxes and the tax code. Tobacco and Smoking. For as long as I have been smoking there have been warnings on the packs about cancer, birth defects and a myriad of other warnings. There have been statistics released on how many people die from lung cancer every year. So how does the government attempt to make me change my behavior? They tax the crap out of tobacco. If smoking is so bad why is it not banned? Because there is a federal agency that regulates tobacco. If smoking was banned the government would lose a source of revenue. So I buy tobacco, pay the taxes and try to enjoy a good smoke. Then they further try to change my behavior by telling me where I can not smoke. They still will not ban it, they only limit where it is used and tax the crap out of it. Money is more important than any thing else. The taxes are used to fund social welfare programs, think SCHIP.
I will use this example and a way to reward with taxes and the tax code. Home improvements, the energy star and electric cars. The appliances in your home are aging and you have considered replacing or upgrading. Major appliances are expensive you decide to wait, after all the old appliances still work and do the job that they were intended to do. Enter the government to offer a tax credit if you replace your appliances. The newer ones are more energy-efficient, or so they claim. So you replace them early for a tax credit, a break on income taxes. The same is true of electric cars and solar panels, again the purchase of one garners a tax credit. You do what the government wants and you get a break on taxes. You get not tax credit for conserving without upgrading. You only get a tax break for buying what they want you to buy.

Think about the other ways the population is being conditioned. Getting accustomed and used to seeing and experiencing now what would have been cause for alarm. I am not one to believe that the government allowed the events of 9/11 or the Boston Marathon bombing and the other terrorist attacks to happen. They may have missed the warnings. They have certainly capitalized on every catastrophe and incident. Government has grown or expanded its powers each and every opportunity presented to it. There are many more, you only have to think.

Are you being conditioned?

Now to entitlements. You are entitled to the following by being an American citizen; Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Outside of those three things you are entitled to what you have earned or produced. You are not entitled to one single thing that I or anyone else has earned or produced. You certainly are not entitled to Welfare.

Incrementalism and Gradualism, Engineering the means to the end Part 1

Incrementalism, a policy or advocacy of a policy of political or social changes by degrees.
Gradualism, the policy of approaching a desired end by gradual stages.
Those two words best sum up the Domestic Policy of liberal progressives and especially the current administration. Bit by bit, bringing America down to the level of the rest of the world. Liberalism and progressivism are not just confined to the Democratic Party, it also exists in the Republican Party. In that context when the term “liberal progressive” is used it does not necessarily mean a democrat. Perhaps a better term would be “social progressive” or “political progressive”, that would eliminate some confusion.

The easiest population for government to have absolute power and domain over would be best described as a population of totally compliant Peoples, the ones that are most referred to as sheep, aka “sheeple”. By contrast the hardest people to have absolute power and domain over would be those that believe in the principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

There are only two types of governments around the world.
1 The governments founded on a principle that denies basic rights to the citizens and power is retained by the government, even if that government is composed of only one person. In these countries the constitution, if the country has one, gives power to the government, which by default limits, denies or removes power from the people. These countries are ruled by force not consent, a totalitarian government. The people have no rights and have no choice but to comply with government. The inhabitants are property of the State and are passed along to the next Ruler. This is an example of a Democracy, rule by the majority. Actually the people do have somewhat of a choice, they can choose not to comply, which will have dire consequences.

2 The governments founded on the principle that the government has power only because the population gives their consent to be governed. These countries are governed by consent not by force. In these countries the power remains with the people, a representative government. In these countries the Constitution is to limit the powers of the government, not the people. Not only do the people have and are guaranteed, not granted, their rights, they are also free to exercise them or not, as they choose. The Constitution in these countries limit the power of government, each branch has its own specific roles and limitation and operate on a system of checks and balances.

The question at this point would be do you wish to live under a government or with a government?

If your answer was to live under a government, this is what you chose.
You have only the rights given to you by government and can only exercise them as long as government allows. What the government gives the government can take away.
Basically this sums it up best. Rights when granted are not granted equally. The government has complete and total control over your life and all aspects of it from cradle to grave. Government control is total and limitless. A government that tells you what you can do, when you can do and for how long. A government that tells you what you can buy and when. A government that tells you what you will or will not buy.

If you chose to live with a government, this is what you chose.
You recognize and accept that you have Certain Inalienable Rights namely Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. The usage of the word Certain in the previous sentence is the same as the Founders and Framers intended as to mean Absolute. You are responsible for your life from cradle to grave. You have rights that are granted by the Creator of the Universe. They are yours, you can not transfer them, they are yours. You have a choice when it comes to “Certain Inalienable” rights, you are free to exercise them or not. That is real Freedom and Liberty.

Given the choices above and the question of which would you rather do live under a government or live with a government, there arises a new question. Why would a people who had so happily lived with a government would now voluntarily give that up and choose instead to live under a government? Going from being governed by consent to being ruled.

This brings up another question. At what point is the government no longer content with the idea of governing by consent?

There comes a time when government begins to see the population as “a thorn in its side”. When government reaches that point governing by consent goes out the window and rule by force becomes the government. There are only two ways implement a government ruling by force in a nation that had up to that time been governed by consent. The first is Fast and Brutal, in a large nation fast and brutal has inherent problems. The second is in slow, planned, and gradual or incremental steps and requires patient engineering. As I have written before government is about power and control. Government is only concerned with the continued existence and well-being of government. The larger government grows the harder it is to control, at some point it goes out of control, out of control of the people, that is. The larger government grows the more power it has or takes and the more power it wields over the population. Soon the population is powerless to resist the force of government.
